Dear Patients of North Berkeley Dental Arts
COVID-19 and its effects are in the forefront of our lives, dominating the news throughout the world. In recent days it has become certain that we are in the beginning stages of a health crisis that has spread globally. We can take actions early as a community to help mitigate the spread of the virus and to help save lives in the upcoming months. The more we can do today to help reduce the infection rate (i.e. flatten the curve) of COVID-19, the better off our community and world will be in the long run. The medical teams on the frontlines need our help to keep the most vulnerable amongst us safe from this virus.
With that in mind, and after much thought and consideration, we at NBDA have decided to suspend routine and non-emergency dental care for the next 2 weeks and possibly longer starting March 16. Non-urgent procedures and visits include cleanings, recall appointments, restorative procedures that can be delayed for a couple of weeks, orthodontics and elective dental surgeries. We will be contacting patients who are already scheduled during this suspended time period to reschedule them at a later date. We hope to recommence with normal business hours on Tuesday, April 7th. The office will remain open but only to treat dental emergencies and to complete restorative cases in the provisional phase (crown cementation or denture delivery).
We have been fortunate thus far and are happy to report that no one in our staff has been sick. We have been following all the COVID-19 and universal protocols by the CDC, ADA and the state. We believe that as members and business owners in a community that we love, that it is our responsibility to make difficult decisions that are the best for our staff, family of patients and the surrounding community. It is essential that we all do as much as we can to help flatten the curve of this COVID-19 virus in the coming days and keep our community as healthy as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone. Our goal is to help safeguard the health of our patients, staff and the community as a whole. Please stay safe and healthy and we look forward to connecting with you in the days ahead.
